ERP System Implementation Still Needs Regulation

Jakarta - The application of Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) system in Jakarta still faces tons of problems, including the need for a specific regional regulation to complement legal framework. The head of Regulation Section at Jakarta Legal Bureau, Wahyono, said that regional regulation is needed to help regulate the amount of retribution.

"There must be regional regulation, as it [the retribution] relates to the society," he said. Therefore, Jakarta Regional House is currently working on the draft regulation.

The Chief of Jakarta Transportation Agency, Muhammad Akbar, said that they already have the number of retribution, as recommended by consultant. "Our consultant estimated that the retribution is around Rp 60,000," he said. However, such price needs to be further discussed considering traffic and expenses. "The regulation on retribution (should) not be in a fixed number, but a formula," he said, suggesting that the number can be dynamic adjusting to a certain formula.
