Archbishop Pujasumarta Opts Reconciliation

Yogyakarta - The Archbishop of Semarang, Monsignor Johannes Maria Trilaksyanta Pujasumarta, said to work on a reconciliation with the group that commenced violence and intolerant attack in Sleman on May 29. "That is a discourse. Is it possible? That needs time to process, right?" he said after visiting Governor, The Royal Highness Sultan Hamengku Buwono X, in Yogyakarta. 

They mentioned the incident was an attack towards a group of Catholic people on a community prayer. Banteng Parish, Sleman, has conducted means of legal advocation, based on the victim's charge. "As for justice, the guilty must be punished," said the Monsignor. "Such event has tarnished Yogyakarta as the city of tolerance."

As for the reconciliation, Sultan has allowed Banteng Parish to conduct such attempt. "As for me [now], what matters the most is legal action, not dialogue," said Sultan, amid a number of protests against him for letting such violence to re-emerge. "[....] In fact, dialogue fails to prevent such thing from re-happening."
